Annie Cherry presents Hurly Burly 2008 Burlesque and Variety show!

Friday, January 11th and Saturday, 12th at 9 in the evening Annie Cherry presents Hurly Burly 2008 Pro-Am Burlesque and Variety show at 1317 Union Avenue in Kansas City's avant-garde West Bottoms neighborhood. Performances will include professional as well as amateur burlesque in all it's forms, including tease, comedy, belly-dance, and drag.

Conceived as a showcase for graduates of Annie Cherry's burlesque class, Hurly Burly shows provide a forum for these aspiring ecdysiasts to test their mettle, and also incorporates professional performers to provide the audience with the best in classic burlesque entertainment.

As we all know burlesque is back in a big way. See for yourself what the hype is about! Performers include Annie Cherry, Lucky DeLuxe, Kitty von Minx (burlesque, all formerly of Burly-Q Girly Crew), The Persian Reconnaissance Project (tribal belly-dance), Byrdie Reveal (mime), Kim Oursler (chanteuse), Madame Mamelle de Miel (modern belly-dance), and many, many more... We humbly suggest an $11-$22 donation at the door to cover show expenses.

Annie Cherry is a burlesque performer, producer, singer and actress, as well as a teacher at City In Motion School of Dance. Burlesque classes at City In Motion are Sunday evenings at 7.

Hurly Burly 2008 is produced in cooperation with the KC SOB (Kansas City Society of Burlesque).

Cabaret DeLuxe, an entertainment revue in traditional burlesque style, will debut at Stanford and Sons Comedy Club on January 20, 2008 at 7pm. Performers include Susanna Lee (Lucky DeLuxe), Annie Cherry, Kitty von Minx, DeDe Deville, James Johann, Madame Mamelle deMiel, Arrika Brazil, Dave Free, The Amazing Wallah with his lovely assistant Karen and others. Proceeds will benefit the recent legal troubles of Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School (Burlesque life-drawing salon).

Byrd Productions' Laidback Fundraiser with CABARET DELUXE - April 12, 2008

It's that time of year again!!! Time for another one of Byrd Productions' fabulous Laidback Fundraisers! So, come on down to the Just Off Broadway Theater, 3051 Central, Saturday, April 12th from 7:00 – 11:00ish.

This year's festivities include beer by Boulevard Beer, hors d'oeuvres by Moxie Catering, cake by CakeGallery@Studio209, a silent auction, numerous raffles, and performances of music, comedy, dance, mime, magic, juggling, fire performing, spoken word, performance art and burlesque

This year's performers are Last Free Exit & Friends, Doug Luther, Stephanie Moore, Opus, Gabe Savage, Beth Byrd, Corey "Professor Hap P. Feet" Thomas, Nichole English, Willie's Wenches, Vesuvius Tribe and for the final hour Cabaret DeLuxe featuring: Lucky DeLuxe, Annie Cherry, Kitty von Minx, Madame Mamelle de Miel, Honey Valentine, Lil Debi, The Amazing Wallah and His Lovely Assistant Karen and Mary Magdalene.
