ANNIE CHERRY

Annie Cherry is a burlesque and vaudeville performer, vocalist, pin-up model and go-go dancer - sometimes all at once!

Her career in the public eye began at age six when she mortified her mother by belting Tina Turner's "Private Dancer" at the top of her lungs in a high end department store. Years later, after a stint as an unemployed belly dancers, she seduced her way onto the playbill for the Etta Vendetta's Eyeful Tower, a short lived, but well-appointed girly show, featuring some of the finest burlesque girls and jazz musicians in Kansas City. After Ms. Cherry's debut performance, she was immediately adopted by Kansas City's first modern burlesque troupe, the Burly-Q Girly Crew. She began teaching classes at City in Motion Dance school, which led to the production of Annie Cherry Presents: Hurly Burly, the wildly successful annual pro/am recital and variety show. Annie went on to form Cherry's DeLuxe: Burlesque and Variety, with stand-up comic and fellow burlesque performer Lucky DeLuxe, taking their act all the way to Coney Island, New York, in the fall of 2008.

Annie Cherry is proud to be performing not only with the KCSOB, but also solo, and as half of an old-fashioned vaudeville duo with Bindlestiff Willy. She is a repeat performer with The Donkey Show, Byrd Productions, and the Clownvis Circus Burlesque Show. Ms. Cherry has co-produced and performed in shows for the Kansas City Fringe Festival '07, '08, '09. She has also been a featured solo performer at the Priests of Pallas Ball, Naughty Needles Knitted Burlesque (concept and costumes by Nikol Lohr), Revolver: Secret Supper Club, and many, many more shows and events. She has shared the stage with such musical acts as Quintron and Miss Pussycat, Blowfly, Big Sandy and his Fly Rite Boys, and the Reverend Glasseye, as well as Kansas City's own American Catastrophe, Snuff Jazz, and Rick Mareske, just to name a few.

Annie enjoys bourbon on the rocks, a good bit of fringe, and long walks off short piers
